Silviu is a former amateur boxer with a record of 89 fights (70 wins, 2 draws) who was then asked to coach the Romanian olympic boxing team. He developed many young boxers into champions and olympic competitors before starting to train in Sambo for MMA.
He trained first in Romania and then accepted an offer to train in Russia with the Red Devil Sport Club, where he caught the eye of Vladimir Voronov – a famous Sambo and MMA coach. This led to Silviu training with well-known names such as Fedor Emelianenko and competing in the World Combat Sambo Championships.
Silviu returned to the UK two years ago, having been Head Boxing and Sambo for MMA coach at Phuket Top Team MMA Camp in Thailand, and we’re very glad to have him join the London Fight Factory team.
“I have trained with Silviu for over a year and it always proves quite an experience. I wouldn’t say it’s always a total pleasure – he makes his students work hard – but he is great fun and I have learnt a huge amount from him. I have obviously also become much much fitter as a result of his coaching!
He is very passionate about what he does and really focuses on all the details you need to get right in order to be a good boxer. Training sessions are also quite diverse and can include bouncing around on a tyre or working with tennis balls (to improve your stance) as well as the more expected pad work and bag work etc. I can’t recommend Silviu highly enough – he’s a great guy.” Mike Edwards, Finance Director
“Silviu is a fantastic instructor with a wealth of international experience. I have had the pleasure of learning from him and adding the skills he taught to my own fighting style” Paul Daley, Professional Fighter – UFC, Bellator, BAMMA
“I’m the current World Light Heavyweight champion of BAMMA, and I couldn’t achieve this level of skill without working with Silviu. We have worked together a great deal over the last few years and have very close relationship as coach and student. I trust his judgement and his knowledge of boxing and sambo. He has a great personality and way of motivating his students – highly recommend”. Marcin Lazarz, Professional Fighter – BAMMA
