Hi, I’m Gabriel

I’m 16, and I started doing martial arts when I was about 8 years old. I’ve done many martial arts throughout the years and each one gave me something that I’ll never forget.

For example, when I first decided to train BJJ and start my BJJ journey I had no idea what to expect. All I knew was that it was a bunch of people rolling on the floor but, Looking back on that first BJJ class years later I can proudly say that starting BJJ journey was the best decision of my life. Everyone always asks me why I study Martial Arts or why do I do it and I always tell them the same things: one I love to do it and two it gives me soo much confidence to do anything but most importantly it also teaches me that you don’t need to resort to violence when in a situation that you need to defend yourself. Obviously this wasn’t an overnight decision, but if you ever need to learn how to defend yourself, or gain a lot of confidence and become fit at the same time martial arts is just for you.

Although most people have many doubts regarding the safety aspect of training Martial Arts. Training Martial Arts has its dangers (just like every other sport does), however it can be easily be stopped if you feel any discomfort but just telling the person to stop or by tapping them, which indicates that you give up (when sparing) or if you feel any kind of discomfort or pain. But most people don’t join because of the dangers, but this shouldn’t stop you from even trying the sport, because at the end of the day martial arts is just a sport and it’s also about trying to help you become more confident in yourself.

Thank you for listening to me,
Gabriel A
