BOXING
Boxing is one of the oldest and most efficient combat sports. You use footwork, balance, strategy, head movement, defensive skills and an array of punches to hit someone. Whilst hopefully minimising the chances of getting hit yourself!
BJJ
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu revolves around grappling and ground fighting and revolves around the concept that a smaller person can use leverage, grip, knowledge, position, tactical skills and problem solving to successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant.
NO-GI
In BJJ most of the techniques focus on taking your opponent to the ground where you can control and work to submit them – making them tap out – by successfully applying a range of techniques like chokeholds and joint locks.
MMA
MMA is a full contact combat sport that blends techniques from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Muay Thai and Wrestling enabling you to both strike and grapple with your opponent whilst standing and on the ground.
MUAY THAI
The most well known combat sport from Thailand and sometimes referred to as the ‘art of eight limbs’ as you use your fists, elbows, knees and shins to form one of the most effective and powerful martial arts in the world.
SAMBO
Combat Sambo/Sambo for MMA is a sub-class of the martial art Sambo, which originated in the old Soviet Union. Sambo as a whole is highly influenced by Judo, but also has a strong connection to the native Soviet grappling arts.
WRESTLING
There are a wide range of styles in wrestling and it’s one of the oldest forms of combat. The style we teach here is Freestyle Wrestling which is one of the two styles featured in the Olympic Games.
KIDS BJJ
Sessions are for 6-9 and 10-14 year olds and are designed to help children develop their confidence, self esteem, balance, concentration, co-operation, co-ordination and, of course, fitness.
